The Good Stuff: Cookies!

This segment highlights the good things out there. Products that by design or chance are free of all the ingredients and practices that we keep banging on about. So enjoy!

I'm not sure if we have mentioned this before but pretty much all supermarket biscuits contain (or probably contain) palm oil. We don't eat a lot of biscuits but when we do we generally make out own. But when you want a biscuit in a hurry though what are your options?

Cookie Time make delicious biscuits that are (mostly) palm oil free (a couple of their products may contain palm oil but most definitely do not). And they don't only make those massive cookies that you see at the local dairy; they also make smaller cookies that are sold in the supermarket.

The great thing about Cookie Time is that they use ingredients that you would use at home - Butter, sugar, milk, chocolate, flour, eggs, baking soda, etc. The only additives in their products come from the chocolate and/or dried fruit which would be in homemade biscuits containing these ingredients anyway.

So keep a look out for these palm-oil free treats:
Original Chocolate Chunk Cookie
Triple Chocolate cookie
White Chocolate cookie
Apricot Chocolate Cookie
Chocolate Fix
The Rookie Cookie
Cookie Bites

Remember, if in doubt, check the label. Vegetable fat or oil (unless specified) is probably palm oil. Check out our old post for some more clues to look out for.

Enjoy!

  1. I would love to support cookie time. They are local to me, I love their story and they appear to be doing a lot of work to be sustainable. The original chocolate chunk cookie does contain Emulsifier 476 which also comes from palm oil. Are you certain your list is accurate? It would be great if they stated palm oil free or Certified sustainable palm oil.
